Bakery Goods

English: Chocolate cake- yes, it was as delici...

One weekend at the Farmer’s Market there was a booth that had samples of cookies or a slice of what they call “sugar pie”.  I had never heard of the bakery or the pie but after taking a bite I knew I had to visit the bakery because the pie was delicious and light.

I had to plan a day to go to the bakery since it is not close to where I live. I did just that the other day and I was not disappointed.  It is in a strip mall not a great location however the inside is cozy with a couple of couches and tables and clean. I actually had lunch there; a croissant sandwich and an almond tea.  Both the sandwich and the tea were very good and I purchased 2 chocolate cake pops to take home.  I learned that all the baked goods are made from scratch and baked every morning.  The bakery is owned by a husband and wife team.  The wife is the baker and they have been at this location for 8 years.

When I got home my son and I took a bite of the cake pops, they were melt in your mouth delicious! They were light and not overly sweet.  I’m glad that I do not live closer or I would be there more often and I do not need to gain weight.

For anyone in Orange County that would like to visit the bakery is “Sugar Pie’s Coffee House & Bakery”.  You can google the name to find them and they are on Facebook.  Enjoy!
