Central Coast, Cambria, California--a gray day...

I have not written for awhile because I moved last week. It was very stressful the day of the move. I was trying to direct the movers while packing up my car, my son and my cat.  It was late when we arrived at our destination and we still needed to unload all the furniture and boxes.  Even though it was late we set up the beds and made the beds so we had something to sleep on.  The rest could wait until morning.

The next day we went non-stop putting the furniture where I wanted it and putting the boxes in the right rooms.  We unpacked as much as we could fit into the day and then we would break for dinner and take a minute to relax and then back to unpacking. This routine continued for the next few days.

I had the wonderful help of my older sister for the first couple of days and then my younger sister came up to help finish the work and decorate. I now feel like everything is where it is suppose to be except some days I forget where things are, which drawer, which cabinet, etc. eventually I find what it is I am looking for.

I always wanted to live in a small beach community and now I do. It’s wonderful!  Oh don’t get me wrong there are draw backs, such as the grocery store in town does not have everything, the jobs pay lower but the rents and mortgages are high and the stores do not stay open all night.  I’ll take the trade offs though because I’m ready to slow down and enjoy life!

How about you – where do you dream of living?
