Beach Cottage Community

I love living in a small coastal town however there are pros and cons to it. The pros are the obvious – beautiful scenic drives, the ocean is close by, friendly people and neighbors. There are no commercial big brand stores or restaurants here.

The cons are the convenience of big box stores close by. The grocery store here lacks items that I am use to buying and the shelves are not always fully stocked. The drive to a major grocery store is about 30 minutes away. The drive to a major chain store is 45 minutes away.

Employment is another concern.  Most people here either have their own business, their own shop, or they have two or three small jobs.  There is not a lot of high paying, full time jobs here.  For full time employment you have to be willing to drive into a larger community, which will take about one hour to drive to.  The one hour drive is not bad because it is not in traffic and most of the drive is very scenic.  The drive is even better if you drive a hybrid, if you do not have a hybrid then you are filling up the tank every other day and the price of gasoline is going up, not good, and once again if you do not have a hybrid your car is adding to the air pollution.

As I write this I look out my front window and see beautiful trees and the ocean.  That is a big plus and the people are less stressed out here.  I want to be like that but first I must make some money.  Have a great day!
